On the occasion of World Cancer Day on February 2, 2024, Kalpavriksham Trust in Valasaravakkam, Chennai, was honored with a prestigious award at the 5th Cancer Summit and Awards held at the Dr. Ambedkar International Centre in New Delhi. The recognition was a testament to the hospital’s passionate work in breast cancer awareness and its commitment to conducting Mobile Mammogram Camps, known as MAMMOCARE, in various locations in and around Chennai.
Led by renowned oncologists Dr. M. Banu Priya and Dr. L. Manikandan, the dedicated team believes that the groundbreaking MAMMOCARE project will effectively address the practical difficulties women face in accessing screening centers due to familial and professional commitments. The initiative aims to bridge this gap by bringing healthcare directly to the doorstep of women, making breast cancer screening a convenient and accessible step. The ultimate goal of MAMMOCARE is to empower women’s health by providing a proactive and inclusive approach to breast cancer screening.
